About The Author:

Mike is an Emeritus Professor and former chairman of the finance department at Arizona Sate University. A Chartered Financial Analyst, he has served as a director of the Phoenix Society of Financial Analysts, secretary-treasurer of the Western Finance Association, and was elected to two terms as a vice-president of the Financial Management Association.

Mike is the author of two best selling college textbooks, Fundamentals of Investing, 10th Edition (Addison-Wesley); and Personal Financial Planning, 11th Edition (South-Western, Cengage Learning). The Investments text has been translated into Spanish, Russian, Greek, Portuguese, Taiwanese, and Mandarin (Chinese), and an Australian version of it was published in 2003. He was also the editor of Institutional Asset Allocation, which was sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts and published by DowJones-Irwin, and a contributor to the Handbook for Fixed Income Securities, and Investing and Risk Management – Vol 1 of the Library of Investment banking.

In addition to his academic credentials, Mike has extensive experience in various aspects of the CFA program, having spent the past 15 years as a Level I instructor and course developer at FAR (Financial Analysts Review), the Schweser CFA Study Program, and the Windsor CFA Study Program. Since 1999, with the Schweser CFA Study Seminar. He has taught nearly 100 CFA review seminars in locations all over the US and Canada, as well as Europe (London, Frankfurt, and Zurich) and the Far East (Bangkok, Jakarta, Seoul, Hong Kong, and Singapore). Mike is the author of the Fixed Income Investments Study Notes, Volume 4, and the series editor.
