
John is a faculty member at the University of Missouri-Columbia where he holds the Missouri Bankers Chair. At MU, he teaches banking and corporate finance in the MBA program and corporate finance in the Ph.D. program. In 2002, he received the prestigious William T. Kemper Fellow for Excellence in Teaching designation, a campus-wide teaching award. He has also won numerous other teaching awards.
Since earning his CFA charter in 1993 John has taught and worked with CFA review courses with his particular areas of expertise including Economics and Corporate Finance.
John has published more than 45 articles in the top journals in the field of finance, including the
Journal of Financial Economics, the
Journal of Finance, the
Journal of Business, the
Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the
Journal of Banking and Finance, and
Financial Management. He currently serves as a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Banking and Finance, Research in International Business and Finance, the
CFA Digest, and the
Journal of Business Research. He has been a member of the editorial board of the
CFA Digest since 1995. John is the author of Economics and Corporate Finance, Volumes 2 and 3, Candidate Study Notes.
